POETRY OF BREATHING
The series Poetry of Breathing (2015-) expresses memories and how we feel reality. The exhibition depicts these themes by different layers; how we feel, remember our past and create relationships with different places.
The series is made with instant film in Finland, Paris, France and in Rome, Venice and area of Valle del Treja in Italy. Pictures are presented as pairs and triptychs.
I chose to use instant film in this series because it makes the pictures feel like memories. The images are a bit twisted, changing the reality of the moment at the time of making the picture. The fragility of the material and the possibility of the images fading away are also interesting at a time when we like everything to last forever. Slowly the original prints are transforming and losing details over time like memories usually do.
